SPRINGFIELD — Atem Agot (East Moline, Ill./United Township) recorded his third double-double of the season, but a late run cost the Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team in a 77-68 loss at Lincoln Land on Tuesday night.
The Chargers (3-2) led 62-60 in the final five minutes before the Loggers (1-1) scored 10 unanswered points to take the lead for good.
Agot scored a team-high 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting and grabbed a game-best 12 rebounds in the defeat. The freshman connected on 3 of his 6 3-point attempts.
Jean Luc Wilson (East Moline, Ill./United Township) added 13 points for the Chargers, and Connor Barnett (Fulton, Ill./Fulton) came off the bench to score 10 on 5-for-7 shooting for his first double-digit effort as a Charger.
Lincoln Land’s Quintez Edwards led all players with 25 points while adding 10 assists, five rebounds and three steals.
